Indonesia police say 5 terror suspects killed on Bali

Police say they have shot dead five suspected terrorists in raids on Indonesia's resort island of Bali.

Police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said Monday the men were allegedly part of an Islamic militant network wanted for a series of armed robberies in Medan, a city on Sumatra island, in 2010.

They were allegedly plotting similar robberies on moneychangers and a jewelry shop on Bali.

Amar said the men -- aged between 27 and 32 -- were killed late Sunday in Sanur and Denpasar, areas popular with foreign tourists. Firearms and ammunition were confiscated during the raids.

Bali was the scene of 2002 attack on two crowded nightclubs that left 202 people dead, mostly foreigners. The second bombing in 2005 killed at least 26.
