KABUL â€"  The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Friday that a coalition base in eastern Afghanistan came under attack by insurgents.

ISAF confirmed the attack, saying on its Twitter feed, "According to initial operational reports, there was an insurgent attack against a coalition base in eastern AFG today [Friday]."

"ISAF is currently gathering facts and assessing the situation. More info will be released as appropriate," it added.
