The coach of a British Olympian is slamming a senior figure at UK Athletics after comments he made regarding an athlete's weight.
Toni Minichielle, the longtime coach of heptathlete Jessica Ennis told the Guardian that an unidentified person had suggested that, "she's fat and she's got too much weight."
Minichielle explained that he gets inundated with phone calls and emails suggesting how to train the athlete he's been coaching since she was 11, but labels it "background noise that you can get easily distracted by." He insists he's never had a problem with Ennis' weight.
"You can't deal with the expectations and pressures that are on other people, like the BOA's (British Olympic Association) team management," Minichielle told the Guardian.
The London Olympics will be Ennis' debut after a stress fracture in her ankle caused her to miss the Beijing Games.
