Several of Hollywood's hottest stars cop to being tomboys as young girls. So who are the current red carpet hotties who went from kicking the soccer ball to kicking up their heels in Jimmy Choos? Our friends at Snakkle.com investigate.

21-year-old actress Jennifer Lawrence is about to be a household name as Katniss Everdeen in the soon-to-be-released “The Hunger Games” â€" a film that is supposed to be one of the biggest of 2012.

Before she was cast as the “girl on fire,” Jen was a tomboy from Kentucky and once said she loved to hunt and fish as a girl and even played on an all-boys' basketball team and “went through a wood-chopping phase when I was 9 or 10.”

After wowing audiences with her Academy Award-winning role in “Winter's Bone,” she went on to play super-sexy (and mostly naked) Mystique in “X-Men: First Class.”

Gwen Stefani, Senior Year of High School in 1987 and Today

Used to making splashes since childhood, the popular singer is proud of her sporty past. When asked her to compare herself to the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna, she owned her sporty image. “I don't see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy,” said Gwen. Today, the singer/designer often channels her sporty fashion sense onto the red carpet.

Brooklyn Decker, Junior Year of High School in 2004 and Today

Uber-sexy 2010 “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit cover girl Brooklyn Decker spent her early years looking sporty and preppy.

The fashion model and actress was born in Kettering, Ohio, and moved to North Carolina at a young age before modeling for the Gap and Victoria's Secret and appearing on “Chuck”, “Royal Pains”, and “Ugly Betty.”

She's cast to play a mother-to-be of twins in the upcoming “What to Expect When You're Expecting” and has married to tennis star Andy Roddick since 2009.

Mariah Carey, 7th Grade in 1982 and Today

Little Mariah Carey grew up in Long Island and the suburbs on New York and was a bookish child who used to sing herself to sleep each night.

But everything changed for Mimi in 1990 (just eight short years after this tomboy-esque pic of Mimi was snapped for school) with the release of her first self-titled album.

Since then, Mariah has spent a record of 79 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and earned raves for her role in 2009's film “Precious.” Today, the wife of Nick Cannon and mother of twins vamps it up on the red carpet, showcasing her womanly curves.
