An armed robbery suspect was at large Sunday on the University of Southern Alabama campus, a university spokesman told NewsCore.

A second suspect was earlier arrested and taken into custody.

University of Southern Alabama spokesman Keith Ayers said a student allowed the two armed suspects into a dorm room shortly before 3:00 pm local time. The student was robbed and the suspects fled the scene.

No one was injured, according to Ayers.

An armed person was spotted in the campus housing area, prompting a lockdown and an alert on the university's website advising students to take shelter and remain indoors.

The lockdown remained in place Sunday evening, Ayers said.
